About

The Oxford and Cambridge Society of Austria serves past and present members of the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge in Austria. We are committed to providing a vibrant and enriching experience to our members and their guests, fostering a sense of community and intellectual stimulation. Herzlich willkommen!

The Society was founded in 1994 as The Cambridge Society of Austria and re-christened in 2005 as The Oxford & Cambridge Society of Austria. We provide a home for the alumni communities of both universities, proudly furthering the traditional connection between the two universities, as well as a healthy spirit of rivalry, e.g. through our annual screening of the Boat Race. We are a non-profit organisation under the Austrian Verein charter and approved by both universities as the Austrian Alumni Society.

Events

Membership

The Society offers all alumni of either Oxford or Cambridge the opportunity to become full members by paying an annual subscription fee of 40 EUR. Full membership entitles the holder to attend member-only events organised by the Society, to benefit from a discounted members-fee for paying events, opportunity to avail discounts for their plus one, and to voting rights at the Annual General Meeting. Membership runs for a full calendar year.

We actively reach out to newly admitted students with a connection to Austria at both universities each year. If you are an Oxbridge Alumnus or Alumna and interested in joining the Society, the best way to get in touch is to visit us at one of the public events advertised here. We do not provide admissions counselling for university applicants.
